Chris was born and raised around the Chesapeake, spending extended periods of time boating with his family – on sail boats with his parents and on power boats with his grandfather.  After graduating from college, Chris began what was supposed to be just a summer job selling boats, but what was intended to be a fun summer job turned into much more.  He threw himself into the industry learning everything he could about every type of boat.

In 2001, Chris opened Intrinsic Yacht & Ship.   He began working with a select group of clients, helping them buy and sell their boats many times over.  He eventually expanded his office and sales staff and began offering brokerage on a larger scale.

Since that time, Intrinsic Yacht & Ship has become the exclusive local dealer of such fine boat lines as Ocean Yacht, Albemarle Boats and Bonadeo Boatworks.   By combining the quality and appeal of these new boat lines with a continued emphasis on marketing quality pre-owned yachts and developing personal relationships with our buyers and sellers, Intrinsic has flourished in a difficult market and continued to exceed previous years’ sales records.

Today boating remains Chris’s favorite pastime, and sportfishing has become his passion.  He has participated in countless fishing tournaments around the mid-Atlantic region with tremendous results.  With extensive knowledge and experience in and around boats dating back to his child hood, building highly customized company demo boats and countless hours spent on and around boats, Chris is an excellent choice when it comes to finding the right boat for his buyers.  He also excels at helping his sellers effectively market and sell their boats.

While working in various industries, Larry spent over 25 years of afternoons and weekends on his boats.  Being an active part of the boating community around the Chesapeake and Maryland’s Eastern Shore gave Larry the opportunity to make many lifelong friendships.  It also gave him firsthand knowledge about many aspects of boats and boating that only an experienced yachtsman can have.

Larry decided to utilize that personal experience and began a successful career selling yachts.  Larry’s focus has always been on building personal relationships with buyers and sellers based on honest communication.   With his extensive training in mechanical systems, boat maintenance, and computer engine management systems, Larry has been an invaluable asset to both boat buyers and sellers alike through the entire purchase/sales process.

After coming on board with Intrinsic Yacht & Ship in early 2008 and focusing solely on yacht sales, Larry moved to the position of service manager in June of 2009.  The same qualities that brought him success in yacht sales have served him well in his new position, quickly gaining a reputation of being knowledgeable, honest and trustworthy.  His attention to detail is one thing that Intrinsic’s service and maintenance clients consistently remark on.

With a large number of recommendations and referrals still coming in, as well as past clients returning to him for assistance in marketing their current boats, Larry continues to work as an active part of our yacht sales team.

Having dedicated over 25 years to the boat sales industry, Rodger has successfully navigated countless boat deals in just about every conceivable economic climate.  His experience is an invaluable resource to both sellers and buyers alike, as well as a tremendous asset to the entire Intrinsic Yacht & Ship staff.  His ability to work tirelessly to get a boat sale done, as well as his record of going above and beyond the scope of what most yacht brokers/sales people are willing and able to do, have earned him the reputation of being one of the finest yacht sales professionals in the industry.

Along with his own personal experience, Rodger brings a tremendous amount of network contacts in virtually every area of yacht ownership.  Rodger’s list of industry contacts includes everything from reputable captains and surveyors, numerous finance and insurance professionals and marina owner/operators.  He has developed many lifelong friendships with those he has done business with, including clients and industry contacts.

Rodger is a Western Maryland Native who grew up overseas and settled in Annapolis after being discharged from the Marine Corps.  He believes buying a boat should be a pleasurable experience and says, “Finding that special boat for a client, be it new or brokerage, is my goal.”
