Meet “Intrinsic” our highly customized 54 Ocean demo. Wanting to stand out in a crowd, we started with the new 54, and took it a step further. Collaboration between our Captain Eric Blanks, Chris Ruggieri, and the team at Ocean, we set out to build an Ocean like no other. She features a Custom hardtop with recessed running lights, teaser and radio boxes, as well as tri color custom lighting. On the bridge, keeping in line with the clean look we were after, we changed the helm, adding a teak pod, and custom cabinet to house the relocated breaker panel, SSB Radio, and Stereo/DVD. To accent her sleek lines, we opted to delete the bow rail and pulpit. In the cockpit, we added a teak mezzanine, covering boards and floor, a refrigerated fish box, two freezer/refrigerated units. The electronics package is one to die for, including: Two 15” color monitors, Northstar 6100, 25KW Furuno Black Box Radar, Furuno black box sounder, Furuno Black Box plotter with radar overlay, A second black box Furuno Radar/plotter in salon that is displayed on the flat screen TV, simrad autopilot, 3 Icom VHF Radios (one in salon), Icom SSB, KVH Sat TV with DVR recorders, wired to all staterooms and fly bridge. KVH satellite phone with internet access and a custom bridge and cockpit stereo, with DVD player on the fly bridge monitors are just a few other perks of this boat. To finish off the package we installed underwater, engine room and cockpit cameras, all viewable either on the bridge or in the salon. The cockpit camera is wired into a DVR/ DVD burner to record all of the fishing action that takes place.
In the engine room you will find a pair of 1360 HP MAN engines, an Eskimo ice maker, and upgraded 20KW Generator. The interior is custom by designer William Bailes and CO. With a cruise speed in the 34 Knot range, it won’t take us long to get to the fishing grounds.
Based out Of Sunset Marina in Ocean City, MD, we will be fishing all of the major tournaments. Feel free to come by and take a look at our masterpiece located on C dock.

We had an absolutely amazing weekend with everyone out in 1000 fa. Friday and Sunday we were fishing the OC Marlin Club Labor Day Tournament.
On Friday we headed out and had a decent day, going 2/3 on the whites. Not bad considering most boats were with us with 2 whites. The "Par Five" had the best of it in the tournament with 3 releases.
On Our lay day Sat. We were humbled with the performance of the great crews on the "Seven" and "D.A. Dea" The "Seven" releasing an incredible 6 whites, and a blue, and the "D.A. Sea" with 5 whites.
Sunday morning we headed out just south of where we were on Friday, knowing we had a lot of catching up to do.
Started the day with a single out of a double, the second fish tried to eat the big bait. We then caught 3 more singles, and were still fishing for third place.
Then came the Triple, it was incredible, everything came into place, and Wayne, Robbie, and Eric orchestrated the show perfectly. The three anglers were able to get the releases, one by one. We were now in Second place, still trailing the "Seven" who was having an incredible day as well, but one fish ahead of the "D.A. Sea"
Caught another single, then spotted a tarp floating, and a cloud of bait beneath it. Nothing out of the first pass, but on the second, three whites came out from under. We hooked up on the first two, but the third was all over the place, dredges, left teaser, right flat, etc. He then vanished, and we focused on what we had. After the turn, and the boat out of gear, he showed back up on the right flat as we were clearing lines, but with no momentum, we were unable to get him to eat...very exciting! We managed to release the two we had.
At the end of day we hooked another single, and at 3:40, the "D.A. Sea" had caught up to us with the same amount of fish, we had them on time. It was a long 20 minutes waiting to see if we would catch another, and hoping they would not! At 3 we had won second place.
11 for 13, An absolutely incredible day of fishing!
On the way home Eric asked if we were going monday, kinda hard to say no after a day like that. We went, and had another great day going 6 for 9.
19 whites in 3 days of fishing!
